  Most parents all around the world have 100s of stories of funny, embarrassing and dumbfounding things their kids have said and done.

   

  Here's mine: When my son was 4, our neighbor gave us a homemade pizza.  The next day, my neighbor asked him how the pizza was for dinner.  Marc cheerfully replied "My mother said it was the most disgusting thing she had ever eaten."  I still get red faced when I think of it!

  Hi Karen, well, with 4 girls, I have tons of stories, but here is one of them. Every now and then one of my daughter will forget to complete one of her chores. when this happens, come evening time, i would tell them, "well, you know....since you didn't place your dirty clothes in the hamper, you will not having dessert this evening". Normally, it works and they never forget to do it in the near future at least. But i remember when my, then 4 year old (now 7) said to me. As I was standing in the kitchen preparing desert to be served, she looked around the kitchen and then turned to me and said, with a stern tone in her little voice, "well mom, you know, since you did not finish cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, you will not be having dessert with us this evening" and then she calmly walked away. My whole family burst out laughing because, 1) she was dead serious, and 2) she sounded JUST like me. By the way, I did not have dessert that evening.

  We also have four kids, two girls and two boys and we have tonnes of great stories as well but my favorite one of all time...we still giggle about it today is as follows:
  My oldest daughter was about 8, I went upstairs to tuck her in for the night when she looks at me very seriously and says "mom - I think I have amnesia" I looked at her - trying very hard to not laugh - and said "Why do you think you have amnesia?" " I have this giant red spot on my back and it is very itchy" ... well I couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing - "That's not amnesia honey, it's eczema" I tucked her in and couldn't stop laughing for a good half hour. A good one for sure =0)

  Karen, I have 1 in college, one in H.S., one entering Middle School and my baby in Elementary school. You are so right, enjoy them when they are young and remember those days when they become teenagers, LOL.

  Thanks Karen; My two oldest are in high school, one in elementary and one who is starting preschool in the fall. They are great stories. Right now my eight year old is convinced that we need to go Tokyo because he wants to see the Grand Prix (Cars 2) - he has autism and those are the memories that make things great. He also knows that Cars 2 is being released int he U.S. one month earlier than Canada so now he is plotting on how he can escape to the United States to see the movie...yikes!!!

  OH too funny! My twin nephews are both autistic and they have been very interesting children growing up! One of the boys...when he was a preschooler...loved to write words he had seen that day AND tape the pages on the walls. One day I was over at their house and papers with the word "mattress" were all over
  the place!
